Distractions when learning touch typing
Touch typing is a useful skill that can make regular keyboard work more efficient. However, distractions can easily creep in, hindering your learning progress. Distractions can interrupt your typing practice just as they interrupt work or other tasks that are not so enjoyable. Students may find it harder to concentrate when studying a subject that does not interest them. When learning touch typing, it is worth remembering where you can use the skill, both now and in future work or study. So, how can you manage distractions? When you are in front of the computer screen, engrossed in your touch typing lessons, consider muting notifications and setting a timer, say 25 minutes, during which your sole focus is practicing with the keyboard. Try these strategies during your typing lessons, and adjust the session length to suit your concentration and comfort.
